Diets that are Worth Avoiding

Many people are willing to try different kinds of diet methods, hoping to get a slim body. The problem is, not all methods of weight loss on offer safe. Not healthy, the body actually malnourished, and even kidney damage.

According to the American Academy of Family Physicians (association of family doctors in the U.S.), the public should avoid dieting method with the following characteristics:

  1. Promising quick weight loss, for example, lost 3-4 pounds every week.
  2. Promising weight loss even without reducing fatty foods.
  3. Diet method that uses photos of "before and after" that show a dramatic weight loss.
  4. Diet method which includes testimonials from people who've tried or a man posing as "experts".
  5. Diets that only limits on certain foods, instead of pushing for a healthy balanced diet.
  6. Recommend that you spend a lot of money to buy pills supplements, seminars or buy food ready to eat from a certain company.
  7. The method that claims to cure or mitigate various types of diseases.

According to World Health Organization (WHO), the true weight loss is that which is long term, make changes to become more healthy diet, physical activity and want. Weight loss surgery is only recommended for those who are very obese and have failed in ways that encouraged them.
