Our body needs Vitamin
Vitamins are necessary for the growth and workings of cells in the body very well, but the body can not produce vitamin itself (except vitamin D). Therefore, the required intake from the outside in the form of food or supplements that are sold freely
Vitamin deficiency often occur due to nutrient poor food, a strict diet or food absorption in the gut that are less good. Therefore, sometimes it takes an additional intake in supplement form. But it must be remembered, some vitamins when consumed in excess (such as vitamins A and D) can be dangerous.
- Eat at least five servings of vegetables and fruit every day. Because vegetables and fruits, are rich in fiber and contain lots of vitamin C and other vitamins as well as antioxidants.
- Women of childbearing age should consume a multivitamin containing at least 400 mcg of folic acid to prevent the occurrence of defective babies at a later date.
- When the consumption of calcium in the daily menu is felt less, should be given additional calcium from supplements.
- Adults and elderly should consume a multivitamin once a day. Multivitamin with an appropriate dose with a dose of daily necessities. Avoid using the mega dose vitamins.
- For patients with high cholesterol, should be given vitamin E 400 IU per day. Vitamin E also may help prevent prostate cancer.
