Gastroenteritis
Gastroenteritis, or inflammation of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract are generally symptomatic diarrhea and vomiting. Could be due to infection (usually accompanied by fever) and non-infectious (can be due to food poisoning). Gastroenteritis is one of the most common complaint in infants and children.
Gastroenteritis is often caused fear because it can cause death. But actually, does any of gastroenteritis cause death? gastroenteritis with severe dehydration are at risk of death. Dehydration of the body itself is a state of dehydration because body fluids out of the vomiting and diarrhea.
To that end each of diarrhea and vomiting then managing the main thing is to give fluids to prevent dehydration and to find out the cause. The cause of the diarrhea and vomiting in children most of the virus, recovered by itself. All you need do is continue to give oral rehydration fluids to prevent dehydration while the body fight infection process that goes on viral infections.
Then when to see a doctor? If there are signs of dehydration, if there is the possibility of diarrhea caused by bacteria or parasites, or long-term effects of antibiotics.
Because the principle of gastroenteritis is giving oral rehydration solution, look for the cause, observation, hazard signs and symptoms appear. Appropriate action is not excessive and would benefit children.
